Dear: Uncle Jerry; Susie; Michael; and Peter: So many of my childhood memories are filled with memories of all of you - and Aunt Joan, and, of course, my Wendy. So many years gone from Flower Hill and Bouton Road… but you all are so significantly etched into my heart and soul. What a powerful and strong minded foursome ( and as parents!) Kit and Dick
and Joan and Jerry were during our childhood - and beyond! Mom and Aunt Joan were so close for so many years, but it is the continuing banter and constant ‘good natured’ teasing between Dad and Uncle Jerry which always drew my attention and made me smile. Dad had his golf and Uncle Jerry with his tennis… but then there was their shared love of boating, which I think we all absorbed into our own lives. I was overjoyed when the Benstock family ( especially Wendy!) moved in right next door to the Margolin family on Bouton Road. How amazing that our parents met so many years ago in those apartments in Huntington (when they only had Jim and Susie), and maintained such a strong relationship over so many years!!
I’m so glad that you all had the very charismatic and strong willed matriarch of your family for so many years - but I know that the deeper the love, the greater sorrow - and I am so very sorry for your loss…
I watched the video of the service from yesterday ( it was so good to see you all!) for Aunt Joan and I was filled with sadness for your loss… and the ‘chair for Wendy’… broke my heart… but the ever closeness and continued love in your family between all of you brought such joy to me and showed us how it can, and should, be in a family! (Thank you!!) I am sure, especially now, that you are all grateful for your strong, shared family bond - and I hope it continues to sustain you always - going forward.
My heart goes out to all of you - (and a big hug to you Uncle Jerry! ) You are all in my thoughts…
LOVE,
Stacy

Joan Benstock and family were among the founders of the Pinellas County Jewish Day School and were always generous supporters of the school. They lived the meaning of Tzedakah and this tradition is kept alive through the legacy of their children and grandchildren. Deepest sympathy to the children and grandchildren who were volunteers, donors and alumni of PCJDS.
