I only met your mom once, but it left me with an idelible memory that I'll share here. She was visiting NYC one year and wanted you to accompany her to Chinatown to shop for a Louis Vuitton knock-off handbag. You asked me to come along and I'm so happy that I did! What an experience shadowing her while she figured out who on Canal Street to approach (how did she know?); following her follow the merchandise-runners through back alleys and watching them do the old "switcheroo" on the sly: cash-for-counterfeits. Made me feel young and like an outlaw. She was so intrepid! I know you must be sad, but as long as you have memories of her she is really still there with you. Love and peace.
Not only did my Grandma teach me how to play cards and get a good tan, she taught me how to speak my mind and love unconditionally. I love you Grandma. Rest in Peace.
