Obituary of Dorothy Brady

Dorothy Jeanne Brady, "Jeanne," 82, of St. Pete Beach, passed away in her sleep at home early Friday morning, December 11, 2020.

She was born to the late Madeline "Maud" and Daniel J. Hickey, January 19, 1938 at the Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital in Jersey City, NJ.  Jeanne grew up in Jackson Heights, New York where she attended the Blessed Sacrament school and church. She graduated from the Thorpe Secretarial School  in New York City in 1957.

She was married to the late Edward F. Brady.  Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Maureen Suriano, sons Christopher and Paul Brady, granddaughters Nicole Brady, Allison Van Sant and Samantha Suriano-O'Neil as well as a great-grandson, Grayson O'Neil, and two great-granddaughters, Noelle O'Neil and Sophia Van Sant.  Jeanne was predeceased by her loving husband Ed in 2005.

Prior to her marriage, Jeanne worked as a long distance operator with the Bell System and a keypunch operator with the New York Stock Exchange.  She loved any song Frank Sinatra sang and any movie Paul Newman acted in.  Jeanne will be remembered by her many friends and family for her sharp wit, extraordinary kindness, and great sense of style, as well as her love of poker, dominoes, travel, jewelry and shoes.  When playing cards with Jeanne, it was not uncommon for her to chastise another player not paying attention to the game with her signature "question": "Do you wanna play cards or talk?"

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, January 25th (visitation prior beginning at 10:30) at St John Vianney Catholic Church, 445 82nd Ave, St Pete Beach, FL.  Social distancing, mask wearing and other COVID 19 protocols will be followed.
