Dear Lil, Visiting with you and Lou whenever we came to Florida was always a pleasure. You were like the second set of grandparents I never knew. I loved Lou as though he were my own grandfather and I can only hope he knew this. Lou inspires me as a teacher and I will carry his memory with me in my heart always. Lou was trully special and he's touched so many. May his memory be blessed and may you and your family know no more sorrows. All my love and strenth to you, Rivi Zelenko

I was a student at Cass and had the great fortune of having Mr. Rosen as a teacher. Class of '66 just had dinner on Friday and mentioned Mr. Rosen and his "famous" tie. All of us had great memories of him. I extend my condolences to his family at this time. Sincerely, Carol Costinew-LaVanway

We have been blessed to have known such a kind, loving and sincere man. More than a friend and teacher, always considerate and caring. How lucky we have been to have known Lou, and how much we will miss his gentle ways.

The bimah at Congregation B'nai Israel will never be the same; and, yet, Lou's upbeat, unbridled spirit shall always remain -- in our fondest memories and in our hearts. This was one smart, charming, gracious man who touched many lives in a most humble way. It was always a pleasure and an honor to shake his hand and exchange greetings and the latest small talk. He will be sorely missed and irreplaceable. We can only wish his beloved wife, Lillian, the solace and comfort of having shared such a long, loving and devoted marriage with a man of such class, dignity and distinction. Lou, we miss you already! Lillian, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Lou fought the good fight . . . and will always be much admired by all privileged to know him.
