So sorry to hear of the passing of your father. We both knew quite well. He was always a very kind man and we both really enjoyed talking to him. Please remember all the good times and what a good father he was and be glad that you had him as long as you did. I know that you took care of your father until the end, you were a very kind daughter. Besides that I know that you helped your father in other ways, which I know that he appreciated more than you know. You can be at peace with what you did for him and I know that he knew that he had a good daughter too. With the deepest of sympathy, Gwen and Bob

Dear Sue and Mike, Though I didn't know Mr. Greenbaum personally, I am honored and blessed to have shared some of his life experiences through both of you. And what an incredible life it was! Through your stories, his love of family, strength of character and enduring effect on all around him have been made apparent. While his loss will be felt keenly, his lasting legacy through both of you and through those he touched will not fade.

Dear Sue, I am very saddened by your Dad's passing. He was a very special man. He was a survivor, not only of the Holocaust, but during the past year when he continually defied the odds and recovered. He was a gentle man who loved his daughter and was kind to everyone. We will miss him and his special ways, but know that his good heart will live on inside of you. Love..Ralph

Dear Susan and Michael, We are saddened about your great loss. Please know that he is now in a better place. We are so happy to met him in 2006 in St. Petersburg. It was pleasant and importnat for me, to talk with him as a holocaust survivor about his peronal history in "The Thirties" in Germany. It was so great to hear him talking in German dialect of Wenkheim. I belief that he had never forgotten his frankonien Home (Wenkheim). We are so thankful that he survived the "very bad times in our country" With deepest sympathy Klaus, Elke, Christoph and Daniel

In his memoirs, Harry S Truman wrote: "I always remember an epitaph which is in the cemetery at Tombstone, Arizona. It says: 'Here lies Jack Williams. He done his damnedest.' I think that is the greatest epitaph a man can have - When he gives everything that is in him to do the job he has before him. That is all you can ask of him ..." Manfred would certainly deserve an epitaph similar in spirit: An upright man devoted to caring of his family, always ready to help his friends, modest, gentle, friendly, and preserving his kindness even through dark and hard periods of life. I am grateful having met him and will remember Manfred as a friend and person of remarkable human qualities, while my thoughts and deepest sympathy are with Sue and Michael.

I live in Germany, not very far from the village where Manfred grew up. I have met him and his wife Greta in 1994, and I still remember well how friendly they welcomed me. I was very sad when I read yesterday about his death, and I wish Sue and Michael very much strength now. Erwin Denzler

Obviously, since Manfred was my uncle, I knew him all my life. He was a very sweet, gentle man who had a wonderful outlook on life. I never heard him complain and he accepted his cards as they were dealt to him. I was fortunate to see him somewhat often during the last 20 years or so in Florida since my parents (his wife was my dad's sister) also lived in the St Petersburg area. I will cherish those memories along with those of him from my childhood.

Dear Sue, One couldn't help but take an instant liking to your Dad, Manfred Greenbaum. I visited him twice with you, and both times, despite how he must have been feeling, his smile and the twinkle in his eyes brightened up the room. It was apparent too, how truly devoted to him you were. This speaks volumes of the kind of man, husband, and father he must have been his whole life. My life is enriched by having met him, and you! My thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn his parting, and also as you celebrate and honor his 93 years of life.

To Susan and Michael: My prayers are with you in this time of need. I enjoyed every Sunday evening I spent with him capturing his life story. I got to see a great man and create a lifetime of memories for this family and generations to come thought out this process. It was definitely my honor and privilege to be chosen to create such a legacy. I know he is in a better place where there is no more guilt and regret. He will be miss. He really made a impact in my life and I will cherish everyday I have with my love ones.

I have met Manfred only once, but instantly felt like he is a relative of mine. Like a good and kind uncle. He was very kind to me and even spoke a little German with me, first time I was visiting the USA in 1995. It is a great loss to have him pass, such a good soul.
