ROBERT AMIDEI OBITUARY

AMIDEI, Robert Louis "Bob" 87, died October 2, 2022, under the care of Suncoast Hospice Care Center Bayfront. Bob was born in Lowell, Indiana in 1934, and attended MIT briefly before marrying Patricia (Pat) Jean Lentz and establishing their family. Bob moved his family to Florida in 1958 and was proud to call Tampa home for most of his life. He was a pillar in the Catholic Church, practicing his faith with actions not words. After a successful business career in Tampa, Bob started his "real work", making people happy and comfortable. He's been named Volunteer of the Year many times at the Moffit Cancer Center where he offered hours of his time for over 14 years. Bob was also a key volunteer at Hospice and St. Joseph's Hospital. He brought a sense of serenity and hope to many very ill people over the years. His kindness and concern are legendary at these institutions. In later life he migrated to Gulfport, Florida where he met and married Barbara Seal, and they made their permanent home in Pasadena, Florida. Barbara Amidei survives her loving husband in death. He is also survived by his children, Connie Amidei, Robin Timmons, (Al) and Jim Amidei; siblings, Larry (Barbara) Amidei, Steve (Karen) Amidei, and Gloria (Ed) Kurrack Murray. He was proud of his six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. All are invited to a prayer service Saturday, October 8 at 11 am at The Calvary Catholic Cemetery at 5233 118th Ave N., Clearwater, FL 33760. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute located in Tampa, Florida.
