D.J. you have that smile that could light up a room. An upbeat attitude and a sense of humor that could always make people laugh and put a smile on your face. I know your family was your life especially your children. You are so proud of them. You will surely be missed. Patty and Dave, just can't find the words to express how sorry I am for your loss yet again. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Robin Reeves Robin

Sat here for 10 minutes trying to figure out what to write ... how we could somehow convey to you how saddened we are, how completely astounded we are that this has happened, and how much we admire your strength and grace through this ordeal.
Right now, it seems like words are meaningless.
Please know that we are here for you, that we keep you in our thoughts, and that like you, when we think of David, we smile.
Love,
Karen and Tom

D.J. you will definitely be missed. We hadn't spoken in a while as life would have it but I'm glad we reconnected on social media in recent years. I will never forget growing up with you in Boy Scouts and all of the years we spent together hanging out and playing sports at Central Christian. We were always right there in class together and hanging out on the playground. Not to mention countless field trips. You were always so down to earth, cool and athletic. That's where we connected and had a lot in common. Even throughout high school at Bogie you always remained a good person at your core. I will keep your family in my prayers and good memories in my heart. Until we meet again. Much Love, Manny.

There are no words to properly capture the shock and sadness so many people are experiencing learning the news of this loss, including myself. The only thing that I can think about are the joys that you brought to so many people's lives. It has been years since we have spoken however I have never forgotten that smile, that silliness, or that infectious laugh. I will always wish that I had one more chance to check in on you or to tell you how much you meant to me. You were my friend and a person who became so influential to me over the years, from High School to being grown adults. Even through my darkest times and times when I really needed to grow up, you would offer out a hand, forgive me, and just offer to help without question. I am honored to have shared so many memories with you and will forever cherish knowing that God blessed you in my life. I know that you are not gone forever, as all of those qualities that so many loved will live on through your family and children. I send every thought and prayer to your parents, to Shanna, to your children, and to all who are grieving your loss. I know that they all knew how much you loved them and I hope that in these dark times, it can provide some comfort. God Bless.

DJ, Although we only crossed paths a couple times your smile, confidence and passion towards life sticks with me. Having a Jankowski Mom and a Dad that loves to fish is pretty special. Rest In Peace DJ. You will be missed.

Goodbye my friend. I have a lot of great memories becoming young men together with DJ. It seems like just yesterday we were in 8th grade playing basketball and jumping on this giant trampoline, and devising our workout and nutrition plans to get big and ready for high school! I am shocked and saddened, but thankful we were able to share such pivotal moments of our lives together that I will always cherish. It was a pleasure being your friend, DJ, I’ll miss never getting to see your cheerful smile again though it will live on in the memories of everyone you met. To DJ’s family, thank you for producing such a great young man and father, there is nothing that can be said to make it easier right now but please know that we are all sharing the pain of your loss, and also sharing the gratitude of having had DJ as a part of our lives.

John & I are saddened to hear of David’s death. He did landscaping for us at Captiva Cay and was always so kind with a contagious smile. We passed by David his wife and kids on paddle boards last year and we thought it was the sweetest thing to see the family on the water together. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family❤️RIP David

David was a great asset to us here at El Nido. He was wonderful to work with. When chatting with him his eyes would light up when talking about his kids and wife. We are beyond shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He will be greatly missed. May your memories replace your tears with joy as time goes by.

I am a resident of Captiva Cay and met David because I was on the landscaping committee. It was clear when I met him that his family was most important in his life. I was shocked to hear of his death at such a young age. Sometimes God takes the best too soon. I send condolences to his family who meant so much to him.

DJ you will be greatly missed, and it will be though the many memories that I am blessed to have shared with you that can forever live on in my heart. From a young age I considered you more like a brother than a cousin.
The memories I cherish as a child are the summers spent with you in Florida. Matt driving us to daycare singing in the van, breaking vases playing soccer in the house, jumping off the dock at your grandma’s house, countless hours spent playing basketball, and late nights just being kids just talking and laughing at one another.
As we grew older you became my rock, and even though we were miles apart with our own growing families you were a person I could always count on to answer the phone when I needed a shoulder to lean on. I’m thankful for the time we got to spend together last Thanksgiving sliding down the stairs as if we were still children, and singing Vanilla Ice at karaoke.
Most of all I will miss your amazing bear hugs, at times I can still almost feel them. You are truly a beautiful soul and you had an aurora about you that attracted everyone’s attention when you entered a room. I love you to infinity and beyond. Xoxo
