Obituary of Thelma Buck

Thelma Ruth Buck, age 84 of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s on Sunday, February 17, 2019. She was born to Jack Walker and Mamie Walker on February 18, 1934. Thelma was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee before moving to Cleveland, Ohio and ultimately settling in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1972. She worked in accounting for many years, until she decided to go to school and became a realtor. Thelma was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed being a part of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society. Thelma’s family and friends were her world. She loved her family dearly and was so proud of all her children. She gave them the freedom and independence that allowed them to be anything they wanted. She loved to garden and enjoyed boating and being outside as long as she was with the love of her life, Robert Buck, whom she married in 1966. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Buck in 1986 and her brothers, Herman Walker in 1964 and Guy Walker in 1985. Thelma is survived by her five children and 11 grandchildren; Jerry Buck (Sue) Robert, Joyce; Barbara “Joey” Evans (Dave) Justin, Hillary, Liz; Jim Buck (Sindy)Hannah, Emily, Lacy, Amanda; Jack Buck, Judy Manuel (Rick) Mark, Jeff and five great grandchildren (Ashlee, Makayla, Abby, Sean, and Kyle), her sister Juanita Marcum (Delmar) and brother Randy Walker (Diane) and a number of other loving relatives. Thelma will have a public viewing on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 1-2 pm followed by a memorial service at 2 pm. Both will be held at David C Gross Funeral Home located at 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL followed by a graveside prayer and internment at Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her long illness.We are forever grateful for the care you gave her.
