Obituary of Wylie Hubbard

HUBBARD, Wylie (Cliff), 82 of South Pasadena. Died Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. Born in Roxton, Texas he came here in 1994 from Agawam, Massachusetts. During World War II he served as a B-52 navigator with the 8th Air force in Europe. He was awarded the Air Medal and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He was Director of Public Works for Springfield, Massachusetts until 1976. He then worked as a consulting civil engineer in the United States and abroad. He was a graduate of Oklahoma University. He was an avid golfer. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ruth A; daughter, Holly Hubbard, St. Petersburg; brother, Raymond Hubbard, Huntington Beach, CA; sister, Sandy Robinson, Lovington, NM; nieces and nephews. David C. Gross Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, Central Avenue Chapel, St. Petersburg. Funeral Service will be 4 PM on Monday at David C. Gross Funeral Home with Rev. C. Curtis Hess officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alhambra Nursing Home, 7501 38th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL. 33710.
