Obituary of Irvin Hampton

HAMPTON - Irvin "Irv", age 82, of St. Petersburg, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at Palms of Pasadena Hospice unit. Born in Galien, Michigan, he moved to Florida in 1970 from South Bend Indiana, where he retired as Chief of Police of the South Bend Police Department after twenty years of service. He was in the US Air Force having served in WW II. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #36 and was Methodist. Survivors include his wife of thirty-eight years, Judy; one son, Jeffrey; one daughter, Claudette Hampton and one grandson, Joseph Betts, all of St. Petersburg. David C.
