Obituary of Frederick A. Molella

MOLELLA, Frederick A., 80 of South Pasadena. Died Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. Born in Staten Island, New York, he came here in 1992 from South Hadley, Massachusetts. He was in the Navy during World War II where he served on the USS Mount Trail APA213. He served, and was an honorable plank owner aboard the USS Bataan CVL29. He also was a plank owner aboard the USS Bataan LHD5. He retired as a maintenance superintendent in 1992, after 46 years with Monsanto/Solutia in West Springfield, MA. He also worked for Nova in Worcester, MA. Locally he was on the Code Enforcement Committee, Planning and Zoning Committee, and Finance Committee, all for the City of South Pasadena. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Florence; son, Harold Confer, Eustis, FL; two daughters, Darlene Daugherty, Bainbridge, OH., Carolyn Molella, North Carolina; sister, Dolores Hall, Springfield, MA; two grandchildren; a niece and nephew. David C. Gross Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, Florida, 33707. Graveside service with full military honors will be 1:30 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
