Obituary of Dorothy Miller Halperin

HALPERIN, Dorothy Miller, 84 of Atlanta, formerly of St. Petersburg. Died Monday, July 11, 2005 at Vistas Haven House Hospice, Atlanta, Georgia. Born in Brooklyn, New York, She came to St. Petersburg in 1975 from Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and moved to the Atlanta area in 2001. She was a homemaker and was a part time salesperson at her husband's furniture store in Pittsfield. She was a former member of Temple Beth-El, St. Petersburg and an active member of Temple Anshe Amunim and it's sisterhood in Pittsfield. She was a life member of Hadassah. She was an avid tennis player, golfer, bridge player, knitter, lover of the arts. She was a volunteer for the Tanglewood Music Festival in Lenox, MA; the Berkshire Theater Festival in Stockbridge, MA; and Menorah Manor in St. Petersburg. Survivors include two sons, Keith Halperin, Minneapolis, MN., David Halperin, Traverse City, MI; daughter, Joan Rabin Marietta, GA; brother, Irwin Miller, St. Pete Beach; sister, Lillian Berni, Greenwich, CT; grandchildren, Sarah, Michelle and Stephanie Rabin, Kale, Joel, Lane, Marisa, and Blair Halperin. David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Beth David Chapel, 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg is serving the family. Funeral Services will be 11:30 AM on Wednesday (July 13, 2005) at the David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Beth David Chapel with Rabbi Michael Torop officiating. Interment will follow in Royal Palm Cemetery-South, St. Petersburg.
