Obituary of Duane H. Brooks

BROOKS, Duane H., 67 of St. Petersburg, died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at his residence while under the care of hospice . Born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, he came here in the early 1970's. He was a retired officer of the US Air Force having served overseas for several years and was a security guard at Gilbert's Jewelers for over twenty years. Survivors include his mother, Naomi Fawcett, of Goldfield, Iowa; son, Gerald Smith, Cambridge Springs, PA; four daughters, Holly Webster and Valerie Prosser, both of St. Petersburg, Debbie Ross, Conneaut Lake, PA., Norma Jean Allen, Foxburg, PA; brother, Robert Brooks, Tennessee; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren. Mr. Brooks was predeceased by his wife, Norma Brooks. A memorial service will be held 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at the Veteran's Memorial Park, 9200 Bay Pines Blvd. (enterance to the park is furthest east, closest to Bay Pines bridge) The pavillion is located on the peninsula.Burial will take place at Bay Pines National Cemetery at a later date.
