Obituary of Joseph W. Burke

BURKE - Joseph W., 95, of South Pasadena, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at his residence. Born in White Plains, New York, he came to Florida in 1969 from New York. He was in the Army Air Force having served in WW II and retired as a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force Reserves. He worked for the I.R.S. for a total of thirteen years, both as an assistant director in Manhattan and a director. in Jackson, Mississippi. He was a financial officer of the Air Force Reserves and was a member of the Jewish War Veterans Abe Ader Post #246. He was a former member of Congregation Beth Sholom in Gulfport and past president of B'nai B'rith. Survivors include one son, Howard of Escondido, California and several nieces and nephews including Dr. Chester Handelman of Evanston, Illinois. Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Friday, October 7, 2005 at David C. Gross Beth David Chapel, St. Petersburg. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. David C.
