Obituary of Gordon R. Petteys

Petteys- Gordon R. 71 of St. Petersburg passed away Monday November 7, 2005 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital, South Pasadena. He came here in 1953 from his native Wilton New York. He graduated from St. Petersburg High School and was a former police officer for the City of Pinellas Park. He later worked for the City of St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation Department. An avid outdoorsman, he was a hunter and fisherman who enjoyed camping, working on cars and gun collecting. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and served in the Army after the Korean War. He was Protestant. Survivors include his companion and caregiver of 30 years Julia Bryant and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Wilton, New York. David C. Gross Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, Central Avenue Chapel, St. Petersburg is serving the family. Funeral services will be 2PM Friday, November 11, 2005 in the DAVID C. GROSS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, with Rev. C. Curtis Hess, officiating. Interment will follow in Royal Palm Cemetery-South. Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
