Obituary of Helga M. Waldman

Waldman- Helga M. 78 of St. Pete Beach passed away Wednesday December 14, 2005 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. Born in Berlin Germany, she moved to the United States in 1946 from England and came here in 1989 from Rockland County New York. She was a graduate of the Ginner-Mawer School of Dance and Drama in England, and later completed her bachelors degree in Dance Education and a Masters degree in Recreation Therapy. She was a dance instructor and coordinator of the dance Department of the Rockland Center for the Arts for twenty five years. She was a member of Temple Beth-El and its Sisterhood; Brandeis University Women where she was in charge of short stories; Hadassah; and taught low impact aerobics at Town Shores of Gulfport. A Holocaust survivor, she was a member, lecturer and docent at the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg. Survivors include her husband Herman; two daughters Hilary Waldman of Andover CT and Beverly W. Rich of Providence R.I, six grandchildren, Jill, Liam, Max, Samantha, Ilan and Cole. David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Beth David Chapel, St. Petersburg is serving the family. Funeral services will be 10am Friday, December 16, 2005 in the Beth David Chapel of David C. Gross Funeral Homes with Rabbi Michael Torop, officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Largo. The family suggests memorials, in lieu of flowers, to the Florida Holocaust Museum, St. Petersburg. Service Information
