Obituary of Sol Fellman

FELLMAN - Sol, 94, of Gulfport, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2006 at The Health & Rehabilitation Centre at Dolphins' View in South Pasadena. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, he moved to Florida in 1995 from Minneapolis, Minnesota where he was the owner and builder of unpainted furniture at the "Unpainted Place" for forty years. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska, having earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. He was a chemical engineer working as a ballistics expert at Aberdeen proving grounds in Maryland during WW II. He was a volunteer in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade during the Spanish Civil War. Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Pearl; one son, David, of Golden Valley, Minnesota; two daughters, Ruth Block, of Cambridge, Massachusetts and Carolyn Fellman of Gulfport, Florida; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Beth David Chapel, St. Petersburg with Rabbi Arthur Baseman officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
