Obituary of Shirley Ruth Garskof

Garskof- Shirley 78 of St. Petersburg passed away Thursday March 30, 2006 at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park. Born in Brooklyn New York, she came here in 1973 from Long Island New York. She retired from the Pinellas County School Board where she worked for many years. She was a member of Congregation B'nai Israel, AARP, Boca Ciega Yacht Club and was a volunteer at Gulf Coast Community Care, the Simon Wiesenthal Center and the Pinellas County School Board. Survivors include three sons; Mark of Pinetop Arizona, Irwin of Port Matilda Pennsylvania and Steven of St. Petersburg; a brother Sidney Kaplan of Philadelphia; her companion of twenty years, Ralph Moulton of St. Petersburg; a sister Loretta Sturman of Holbrook New York; seven grandchildren; Marya Garskof of Arizona, Benjamin, Jeremy, Jenna and Julie Garskof, all of Pennsylvania and Praavin and Pournima Garskof, both of Port Matilda, Pennsylvania; three step-grandchildren and two great grandchildren. David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Beth David Chapel, St. Petersburg is serving the family. Funeral services will be 10AM Monday, April 3, 2006 in David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Beth David Chapel 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg with Rabbi Jacob Luski, D.D. and Hazzan David Sislen officiating. Shiva minyan will be held at the home of Shirley Garskof on the evenings of 4/3 and 4/4 (Mon and Tue) at 7:30 PM. . Further information will be announced at the service including home location.
