Obituary of Gene Smith Reese

Reese- Gene Smith 83 of St. Petersburg passed away Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. Born in Birmingham Alabama where she graduated Birmingham Southern College Summa Cum Laude, she came here in 1956 from Philadelphia PA. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church; St. Petersburg Country Club and Phi Beta Kappa. Survivors include her husband Dr. Howard L. "Sparky" Reese; two sons Howard Reese Jr of Atlanta GA and Ed Reese of St. Petersburg; two daughters Patty Ann Meyer of Guilford CT and Becky Reese of St. Petersburg; two sisters Ann Morris Smith and Pat Fitzgerald of Birmingham and ten grandchildren. David C. Gross Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, Central Avenue Chapel, St. Petersburg is serving the family. Funeral services will be 11AM Thursday, June 8, 2006 at First United Methodist Church, 212 3rd Street North with Rev. Daniel D. Meyer and Rev. H. Clark Edwards, officiating. A reception at church will follow the service, and interment services will follow the reception at Bay Pines National Cemetery at 2:15PM.
