Obituary of Ethel C. Honigman

HONIGMAN - Ethel C., 96, of Clearwater, passed away at her residence Saturday, June 17, 2006. Born in Steubenville, Ohio, she came to Florida in 1972 from Brooklyn, New York. She became an elementary school teacher at the age of nineteen and continued teaching until the age of eighty-nine, having taught in the public school systems in Steubenville, Ohio; Brooklyn, New York; Pinellas Park and Clearwater, Florida. She was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom, Clearwater, and past president of its sisterhood; and a member of the Clearwater chapter of Hadassah. She loved her synagogue, teaching and her family. Survivors include her son, Dr. Howard Honigman (Joanne) of Brooklyn, New York, her daughter, Ruth (Bob) Strudler, of Houston, Texas and six grandchildren, Jacob and Amy Honigman and Craig, Seth, Keith and Andra Strudler. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Monday, June 19, 2006 at Congregation Beth Shalom, 1325 South Belcher Road, Clearwater, 33764 with Rabbi David Weizman officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Largo. The family suggests memorial donations in lieu of flowers, be made to Congregation Beth Shalom. David C.
