Obituary of Russell M. Bailey

RUSSELL M. BAILEY, JR., age 87, of Marion Indiana and St. Petersburg, Florida, died Thursday, August 10, 2006 in his residence in St. Petersburg. RUSSELL was born on December 22, 1918, in Bath County, Kentucky, the son of the late Russell M. Bailey, Sr. and Josephine (Manley) Bailey. On December 18, 1937, he married Della Rae Blevins. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2003. He was a Navy veteran serving in the battle of Iwo Jima & Pearl Harbor during WWII . He was the meat department manager at Marsh for 30 years, retiring in 1985. RUSSELL was a member of the Church of Christ Woodland Hills, Marion. He was a Mason and loved carpentry and woodworking.Survivors include Son, Roger Bailey (Pat) of Marion, Indiana, Grandsons, Shelby Davis, Wayne Bailey, and Donnie Bailey, and two Great-Granddaughters, Brianna Bailey and Alexis Davis.He was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Bailey. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home in Marion Indiana.
