Obituary of Katharine Locke
LOCKE, Katharine H., 88 of St. Petersburg. Died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. Born in New York, New York, she was raised in Rochester. She came here in 2002 from Danbury, Connecticut. She served in the WACs during World War II. She founded Casual Living, a mail order firm in New Milford, CT., with her husband. She was active in the business until its sale to Thompson Cigar of Tampa in 1989. She attended Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY. and married Richard Locke in 1938. She was a Unitarian and a member of the League of Women Voters. She was an avid reader and swimmer. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and traveling through Europe. Survivors include her son, James, St. Petersburg; daughter, Peg Valle, Boynton Beach; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
Private cremation. There will be no memorial services.
