Obituary of Ida Weinfeld

WEINFELD - Ida, 85, of Largo, formerly of St. Pete Beach, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Sabal Palms Health Care Center in Largo. She came to Florida in 1946 from her native Baltimore, Maryland and moved to Largo from St. Pete Beach a few years ago. She was a former member of Temple Beth-El in St. Petersburg. She, along with her late husband David, owned and operated Actron Engineering Inc., a precision sheet metal shop in Clearwater where she also served as secretary and treasurer. She was very active in the Easter Seals where she served on its Board of Directors for over thirty years. While in the metal working business, she got several of her suppliers to donate enough stainless steel to build the large whirlpool for the new Easter Seal Center which is still in use today. She dedicated her life to fund raising for the Easter Seals and spent much of her time chairing many of their fund raisers. Survivors include her son, Larry (Francee), of Largo, Florida; her daughter, Janice (David) Bruneau, of Chandler, Arizona; one sister, Ann Balotin, of Baltimore, Maryland; five grandchildren; Shawn, Daniel and Rochelle Weinfeld, Steven Lugerner, and Michael Bruneau and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Weinfeld was a devoted, loving mother, always giving unselfishly of herself to whomever touched her life. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, David J. Weinfeld, who preceded her in death on February 17, 1992. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at David C. Gross Funeral Home, 6366 Central Avenue with Rabbi David Weizman Officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Largo, Florida. The family suggests memorial donations in lieu of flowers, be made to the Easter Seal Center. Service Information
