Obituary of Magalys Marin Cortina Powers

Powers- Magalys Marin Cortina 39 of Seminole passed away Sunday, August 27, 2006 at Sun Coast Hospital, Largo. Magalys was born in Camaquey Cuba, on May 8, 1967 to her loving parents, Remberto Marin CepQro and Elena Cortina Cepero. Magaiys came to the United States from Havana on February 25, 2003 and was married to her loving husband, Peter Michael Wallis Powers at Fort Desoto Park on March 17, 2003. Magalys worked as a sales associate for "Ross Dress For Less" and was well respected for her friendly and hardworking attitude. She was very well liked by her co-workers and customers. Magalys was a fantastic dancer and loved music of all kinds. She was very bright and possessed a mischievous sense of humor. She was energetic, full of life and always fun to be around. She enjoyed going to amusement parks, traveling to new places. bowling and trying out new and exciting things. Magalys was a lawful permanent resident and was looking forward to becoming a United States Citizen in April 2007. Magalys was a beautiful soul who possessed a heart of gold. She will be fondly remembered for her beautiful smile, her laughter, her kindness, generosity, warmth and loyalty to family and friends. She was very much loved and adored by all the Powers family as well as her family and friends in Cuba and the United States. Magalys was a Roman Catholic and is survived by her loving and deeply saddened husband, Peter Michael Wallis Powers. Other survivors include her beloved daughter, Jennipher Sanchez Marin, her father, Remberto, her sister. Loreta and two brothers, Jose and Abel, all of whom reside in Cuba and three grandchildren here in the United States; as well as her many relatives and friends in Cuba, Spain and the United States. Magalys was a very special woman and it is heart breaking to all that knew her, that she is no longer with us. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
