Obituary of Virgil Merle Elder

Elder- Virgil Merle 87 of Largo Florida, formerly of St. Petersburg and Brooksville passed away Thursday, September 28 2006 at Largo Medical Center. Born in Ottawa Kansas, he moved to St. Petersburg in 1946 where he resided until moving to Brooksville in 1980. He moved to Largo in February 2006. He was a retired Real Estate Sales Representative. During World War II, he served in the Army and became a disabled veteran. He enjoyed racing boats, flying, amateur radio and most of all, his family. He was Catholic. Virgil is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Helen E.; loving sons Kenneth (Robin) and John (Robin) all of Largo and James (Sabrina) of Sarasota and seven cherished grandchildren. David C. Gross Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, Central Avenue Chapel, St. Petersburg is serving the family. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 2PM in the David C. Gross Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tom Norton, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Royal Palm Cemetery-South. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service. Service Information
