Obituary of Dominick Valpacchio

VALPACCHIO - Dominick, 88, of Seminole, formerly of South Pasadena, passed away Monday, October 2, 2006 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital in South Pasadena. Born in Dobbs Ferry, New York, he came to Florida in 1976 from Wethersfield, Connecticut and moved to Seminole a few years ago from South Pasadena. He was a military escort in Hawaii having served in the US Army during WW II. He was the first U.S. fish inspector for Gordon's of Gloucester and served as a USDA Food Inspector for twenty-five years. He was an avid golfer and taught tennis in the Hamptons in his younger years. He was a member of the Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Gulfport. Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Lynda M.; two daughters, Marianne Voirol of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Lisa Valpacchio-Brison of Punta Gorda, Florida; three sisters, Louise Petrucelli and Nancy Hogan, both of Dobbs Ferry, New York and Yolanda Francia of Rochester, New York; five grandchildren, two great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday, October 10, 2006 from 9-11 AM at David Gross Funeral Home, 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 AM Tuesday at Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 5800 15th Avenue South, Gulfport, Florida, with Fr. James Merkel officiating. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. David C. Gross Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, Central Avenue Chapel, St. Petersburg is serving the family. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in loving memory of Mr. Dominick Valpacchio. Service Information
