Obituary of Charles H. Kaniss

KANISS - Charles H. (Mark Holly) 66, of St. Petersburg, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2006 at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg. He was born in St. Petersburg and served in the US Navy. He received his bachelor's degree in registered nursing and was a singer, song writer and guitar player; having performed under his stage name, Mark Holly, in the band New Christy Minstrels with Kenny Rogers. He also was in the Back Porch Majority with Randy Sparks and played in Las Vegas, Reno and Tampa. Locally, he played and sang in the band "Impacts". He was Protestant. Survivors include his brother, Paul E. Kaniss of Belen, New Mexico and various cousins. David C. Gross Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, Central Avenue Chapel, St. Petersburg is serving the family. Per his request, there will be no public services. A private cremation will be held with inurnment to follow at Bay Pines National Cemetery. Service Information
