Obituary of Eugene M. Brindis

BRINDIS, Eugene M., 91 of Palm Harbor. Died Monday, February 12, 2007 at his residence in Coral Oaks. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he came here in 1983 from Laconia, New Hampshire. He was the founder and president from 1937 to 1977, and chairman of the board and treasurer from 1972 to 1981 of the Laconia Shoe Company, Inc., Laconia, NH. He was treasurer from 1948 to 1981 of the Paris Shoe Company, Inc. in Lowell, MA. He was director and a member of the executive committee from 1969 to 1981, and senior vice president from 1969 to 1981 of Morton's Shoe Company, Inc. in Boston. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School in Haverhill, MA. He attended both Marquette University in Milwaukee and Boston University. He was president and director of the Cerebral Palsy Foundation of New Hampshire; Treasurer and Trustee of Temple B'nai Israel in Laconia, NH; chairman of the board of trustees of the Lakes Regional General Hospital; chairman of the board of Fleet Bank of New Hampshire. Survivors include his daughter, Tina B. Gordon, Palm Harbor; three grandchildren; one great grandchild. There will be no local services. Interment will be in Children of Israel Cemetery, Haverhill, Massachusetts. David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Beth David Chapel, 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, is serving the family.
