david, i want to thank you for all that you did to make an otherwise difficult time, as beautiful, spiritual, and easy as possible. your manner, your strength, your understanding, and most of all your true empathy was far beyond what i ever anticiapated. because of your true kindness and caring, i was able to begin my mourning process, and look within myself for the strength to procede in a healthy manner. i thank you for those precious hours you allowed me to spend in solitude. because of your true professional approach to your business, we, the family, were able to see the wonderful tribute to Dad and his life. with sincere and deepest gratitude for your committment to what you believe. sharyn wittner

Dear Jean, I am so,so sorry to hear about losing Ted. Jane and I have long admired your relationship - it somewhat parallels ours. I spoke with Ted a few weeks ago as we were both purchasing generators for our homes. We talked about the cost vs. new construction (what else) and his position was that you wanted it, so who cares. I told him it was the same at our house. Ted was widely admired for both his business and community successes. He was someone I always looked up to. Hopefully, time and family will be the great healers - and though I know it will never be the same, my best wishes and prayers for good years ahead. I'll be at the funeral although we may not see each other. Hope to see you in the near future to give you a hug. Art Rutenberg

Dear Jean: Bruce and I feel it is almost an intrusion to write at a time like this, but we must tell you how saddened we are by the news, and how deeply we feel for you in your sorrow. It was privilege to have known Ted and his loss will be felt for a long time to come. Bruce and I hope that time will quickly soften the blow and leave you with only cherished memories. Many share your sorrow. We are sorry that we can not join you for the funeral but we are traveling in Portugal. Affectionately, Amy and Bruce

I knew Ted had a serious battle on his hands, but I was shocked and saddened to learn of his passing. I actually found out while on the Bimah of his beloved Congregation B'nai Israel (where he had served as president) while I was holding the Torah as part of the Mitzvah Men's Club Shabbat. The Torah actually started to throb in my arms as I held it with loving memories of Ted and sincerest condolences for his entire family and legions of friends. He made his mark in so many ways and will continue to live on as an inspiration to each of us, as we continue to strive for excellence in community service to those deserving and in need as he did. Ted led the way... and we must follow in his footsteps and emulate his amazing grasp for the "big picture"! He will be sorely missed, but his personal impact will be felt by generations yet unborn.
