Obituary of Jennie VanBuskirk Uotila

UOTILA - Jennie VanBuskirk, 94, of St. Petersburg, passed away Monday. April 30, 2007 at Westminster Suncoast in St. Petersburg. She came to Florida in 1978 from her native Spencer, New York where she was a member and Deacon at Spencer Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker who loved cooking, interior designing and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid seamstress and a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. Survivors include her husband of seventy-one years, Jorma; her son, Jeff Uotila of St. Petersburg; her daughter, Jennifer Terpening of Ithaca, New York; one brother, Dan VanBuskirk of Ithaca, New York and one sister, Virginia Workman of St. Petersburg, Florida; four grandchildren; Christopher Uotila of Cortlandt, New York; Patrick Uotila of New York City; Kenneth Terpening of Albany, New York and Suvi Terpening of Ithaca, New York, and one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Mitchell of Cortlandt, New York. Family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Saturday at the David C. Gross Funeral Home Chapel, 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, Florida where a 3 PM funeral service will be held. Pastor Daniel Humphries will officiate. Graveside services will take place 1 PM Saturday, April 12, 2007 at Evergreen Cemetery in Spencer, New York. The family suggests memorial donations be made in lieu of flowers, to the Salvation Army or the Alzheimer's Association In loving memory of Mrs. Utiola. Service Information
