Obituary of John F. Mitchell

John F. Mitchell, 89, of St. Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2007. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he came to Florida in the 40's from New York City. At the age of 72, he retired from the Hennessey Construction Company where he worked as the lead supervisor on construction sites. He oversaw the building of most of St. Petersburg, having worked for Hennessey for over fifty years. He was a veteran. Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Davis of St. Petersburg and two grandchildren. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen who passed away in 2006.
