Obituary of Robert M. Diamond

Dr. Robert M. Diamond 3/05/30 - 12/14/07 Dr. Robert M. Diamond, loving son, husband, father and grandfather passed away early on Friday, December 14, as a result of complications from heart surgery. Dr. Diamond was Assistant Vice Chancellor at Syracuse University and President of the National Academy for Academic Leadership which he founded. Throughout his career, Dr. Diamond held faculty and administrative positions at Syracuse, the State University of New York at Fredonia, the University of Miami, and San Jose State. He directed the National Project on Institutional Priorities and Faculty Rewards, and his published works include: A Field Guide to Academic Leadership; Designing and Assessing Courses and Curricula; Preparing for Tenure and Promotion Review; Serving on Promotion, Tenure, and Faculty Review Committees; and Aligning Faculty Rewards with Institutional Mission. Most recently, Dr. Diamond worked as an author and consultant in higher education, lecturing worldwide, while maintaining residence in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Diamond, a native of Schenectady, New York, was a graduate of the Albany Academy and Union College. He received his Masters and Doctorate degrees in Education from New York University. He is survived by his mother Ruth Kling, wife of fifty years Dolores, daughter Harli Rozental and husband Israel, son H. Gordon and grandson Joshua Chapel services will be 1 PM Sunday, December 16, 2007 at David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Beth David Chapel, 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, with Rabbi Jacob Luski, D.D. and Hazzan David Sislen officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Largo. . Service Information
