Obituary of E. Marjory Newstein

E. Marjory Newstein was born on August 2, 1917, in Philadelphia. She was the only child of Johns S. Hammill and Elsie H. Cleland. She was married to Herman Newstein from September 25, 1943, until her death on July 27, 2008. They had one daughter, Tina N. Hohlfeld; three grandchildren, Evan B. Hohlfeld, David M. Hohlfeld, and Emily H. Kuhns; and three great grand children, Zoe Hohlfeld, Sophie Hohlfeld, and Gabrielle Kuhns. E. Marjory Newstein graduated from the Philadelphia Normal School and Temple University (BS in Education) in 1945. She continued her professional education at the graduate level at the University of Maryland, Paterson State College in New Jersey, and Villanova University, and she earned a Masters Equivalency Certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. She devoted her professional life to the education of young children in schools in Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania until she retired from the Radnor School District in Pennsylvania in 1979. E. Marjory loved gardening, music, reading, traveling, and learning. E. Marjory shared a joy for experiencing life with her husband; they traveled the world together. E. Marjory always had time to help her grandchildren explore the world around them. Both Herman Newstein and E. Marjory Newstein are interred together at Bay Pines National Cemetery in Seminole, Florida. Service Information
