Obituary for George J. Camarinos, M.D.  
We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved father, George J. Camarinos, M.D.  He was 84 years oldAlthough we will miss him on this earth, we are comforted by his immense faith in God and know he went to be with the Lord when he passed on February 16, 2023.  George was born and raised in the Bronx, New York City, to hard working immigrant parents from GreeceHe graduated valedictorian of his private high school, then top of his class both at Columbia College and New York Medical School, becoming a successful Internal Medicine and GastroenterologistHe practiced medicine both in New York and then in FloridaDuring his time at Columbia, George additionally had a successful music career as an entertainer, where he not only was an amazing pianist, he wrote and performed his own songsHis talent in music and performing culminated in numerous record deals with major labels, having a top 10 hit in Colorado, performing at “hops”, as well as, starring in a movie that premiered worldwide, called "Girl Fever”During his music career, he went by a couple different names in show business, such as George Cameron and George Camarinos III.  Although, he was growing in popularity in show business, he decided to give all that up to focus on his medical careerOnce moving to Florida, George had a great medical practice, becoming the first gastroenterologist to do colonoscopies in the Tampa Bay areaShortly after, he got married to the love of his life and had three children that he absolutely adored. George was best known as being a great man of God, a very talented musician who kept writing music throughout his life, as well as a successful and dedicated physicianHowever, his main love, passion and focus was always for his familyGeorge was sadly preceded in death by his son, Demetrios, who passed away unexpectedly in 2009, by his mother, Maria, and his sisters, Paula and JeanneHe is survived by his daughter, Maria Camarinos Hall (Mark Hall), his son, George Camarinos II, and his grandchildren, Constantine and Roman. The funeral will be a private ceremony with only close family members and friends present.
