Obituary of Leslie Homer Bennett

Leslie Homer Bennett, 93, of St. Petersburg, Florida, was welcomed home on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. Mr. Bennett was born November 23, 1929, in Clairton, Pennsylvania but called Florida home for over 50 years. A graduate of Clairton High School, attending University of Pittsburgh, and serving in the U.S. Navy reserves were part of his early life. Mr. Bennett, a devout Christian, was a member of Pasadena Community Church for over 50 years, a leader in Bible Study Fellowship, and a missionary to the Philippines. Mr. Bennett retired from Pinellas County Schools where he worked as a buyer. Collecting and restoring antique cars was a passion for most of his life which led him to become an active member in Pin-Mar Antique Car Club. Above all Mr. Bennett loved his family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. Special friends and neighbors throughout his life became extended family members that he adored.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his only daughter, LeeAnn Bennett Rodriguez and her husband Marco (St. Petersburg, Florida), two adult grandchildren Bennett and Gina (St. Petersburg, Florida), a sister, Bernice Holshouser (Chapel Hill, North Carolina), several nieces and nephews, and his beloved silky-terrier Suter. Mr. Bennett was proceeded in death by his first wife, Regina Schultz Bennett, his second wife Betty Vairus Bennett, his parents Leslie and Geraldine Bennett, and two sisters Marie and Lillian.

A Celebration-of-Life will be held on Saturday, January 7th from 10am til noon at the home of his daughter. Mr. Bennett touched many hearts in his 93 years and will be dearly missed.
