Obituary of Jacqueline Sulek

Jacqueline (nee Gautreaux) Sulek, of Madeira Beach Florida, formerly of Illinois, died peacefully in her home on 8/6/2022 at the age of 58, following a brief period of declining health. Jacquie was born in Melrose Park, IL, the daughter of Frances Kincaid and Donald B. Gautreaux. In 1987 Jacquie married the man of her dreams, Thomas Sulek. Together they raised their two children, Tomas and Taylor Sulek, in Geneva / Batavia IL, and later moved to Madeira Beach following Tom’s retirement. Jacquie was a beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Although she served in different endeavors throughout her life, her greatest joy and service to mankind stemmed from her amazing God given artistic talent. She could capture the purest essence of any image with her eyes and beautifully duplicate those images on any surface. Murals were her biggest passion. She has left a trail of her work on buildings, inside homes, on mail boxes or just about any kind of surface area. She also loved the ocean, and its sea life, especially dolphins. Although she will be greatly missed, her art will always remind us of her inner strength, beauty and light source. Jacquie is pre- deceased by her father Don Gautreaux, and father in- law Fred Sulek. Along with her beloved husband and children, Jacquie is survived by her mother, Frances Kincaid (Downers Grove IL), brothers, Donald (Patricia) Gautreaux (Greece), David (Laura Ellis) Gautreaux (Lemont IL), sisters, Jeannine (Ralph) Clemmons (Keene NH), Rose (Lucky) Bochicchio (Rindge, NH), Kathleen (Terry) )Jones ( Burbank IL), Laura Schwab (Tom Benrus), (Elkhorn WI), mother in-law, Mary Sulek (St. Charles IL), sister in-law, Laura (Freddie) Kolassa (Hannover Park IL). She is also survived by nieces Renee DiCastro, Deana (Jason) Akstins, Michelle (Justin) Ho, Jennifer Sloop, Lisa and Rebecca Sullivan, and Jill Gautreaux, nephews Terry(Jodi Dudek) Jones Jr, Brian DiCastro, Jeffrey Gautreaux, and Nikko Kolassa, as well as several great nieces and nephews. No calling hours or services were held. A separate memorial service to be announced. To share memories, photos and condolences with Jacquie’s family, please visit www.davidcgross.com.
