Obituary of John O'Grady

John (Jack) E. O’Grady passed away July 15,2022 at the age of 85 in St Petersburg, Florida from cancer.

Jack was born in Queens N.Y. and moved to Florida on or about age 9 with his family (mother; Alice O’Grady, father; Harry O’Grady, his sister Carol and brother Dennis).

Jack worked at General Electric for many years and then became a Realtor in the late 1960’S and actively sold real estate for over 50 years. He enjoyed many hobbies and lived a healthy life. Hobbies included yearly snow skiing trips, several bike and barge trips, swing dancing, riding his bike, working out at the gym. Jack enjoyed coaching little league football and baseball and he was a huge college football fan (Go N.D.!). Jack was a member of the St Petersburg Yacht Club for approximately 40 years where he enjoyed the activities of the club and socializing with many friends.

Jack loved his family, and in recent years spent a great deal of time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren taking them to different venues and teaching them valuable life lessons.

Jack was survived by his 3 children: Jeannie, Janet and Thomas (Tom) and wife Nicole O’Grady, his 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Scott, Dennis and Clinton Murchison and Torin O’Grady, together with 6 great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 13 at 6:00 PM at the St Petersburg Yacht Club; 11 Central Ave. His family would be honored for his friends to join us for a dinner buffet, cash bar and share any stories you may have and help us to celebrate Jack’s life.
