I only met Joe a couple of times. My family moved into a house directly across the street from him about a year ago. When we first moved in, he was watching as we struggled to unload heavy furniture from a moving truck in this Florida heat. Joe came walking over with a dolly for us to use. It was a lifesaver! We couldn’t thank him enough. Our trash is picked up twice a week here. When we first moved in, I would carry my 6 month old son out with me to the street while I retrieved the empty trash bins. I would have my baby in one arm and drag the empty trash bin(s) to the garage with my free hand. Well, this only happened twice. The following week I went out to retrieve the bins and they were neatly placed just outside my garage door. I didn’t know who was doing this “act of kindness” for about a month. One day I watched after the garbage truck came. Joe retrieved his own bins and then crossed the street and picked up mine for me! It really warmed my heart to have such a thoughtful neighbor. I did not know Joe well, but I know he was a very kind person. I am sorry for you loss.
