Obituary of Darlene Kampwerth

In memory of our loved one, Darlene Kampwerth, born in 1931, and passed away on May 29, 2022. Darlene is resting with the Lord after 91 years of a joyous and faithful life in service to her King and Savior, Jesus. She was born in Peoria IL to Harold and Louise Mansfield. She married Donald Kampwerth (deceased in 2003) and traveled across England and the US in support of her husband's career as an officer in the USAF. Don and Darlene settled down and retired in Fort Walton Beach, FL in 1970. They raised two boys. Darlene's servant heart led her to be very active at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for over 40 years. This included small group Bible studies, missionary support work LWML, choir, waterfront mission, support and refugee settlement, and many years of working with all her great loving friends at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

When not volunteering, Darlene liked to spend time with her family traveling across the US camping, hiking, and exploring. She especially enjoyed meeting up with her two sister's Barbara Heintzen and Dot Lippmann and their families for summer fun reunions. Darlene later moved to St. Petersburg, FL in 2013 to be close to family in need of supportive care. She would battle dementia her later years until her unexpected death due to a fall.

Darlene is survived by two sons. David Kampwerth and his wife Celia. Three grandsons Aaron, Timothy and Jeremiah Kampwerth and one great grandson, Sabastyan. And, Daryl Kampwerth and his wife Jennifer.
