Dad – I was saddened to see you go. I thank Ruth for reaching out to let us know how ill you were which gave us time to come visit with you one last time. Since our visit I keep reflecting on the many great times of my youth with you. You taught me how to do plumbing, electrical, build things, work on cars, and so so much more. Your service to country instilled the same values in me and was one reason why I served in the Air Force. I appreciate the work ethic you instilled in me, the respect for family and others. To care for those we know, and even care for those we don’t. We talked about many things as I grew up and I appreciate how you helped mold me into the man I am today. Sure, times were sometimes hard, but they also were filled with love and fun, and challenged us to press forward. That legacy lives on not just through me but though my children, your grandchildren, great grandchildren and the hundreds of Boy Scouts I led and guided for 20 plus years. While you are not physically among us now, you still walk with us in our memories, our stories, and the legacy you are a part. You will be missed Dad, may you find peace in the next stage of your journey. Say hello and give our love to granddad, grandmom, and everyone else there with you. Love and miss you Dad, Kirk.
