Hi Dad. Eric sent this to me, and I wanted to share it with you. I always feel bad that Eric never got to see you this past summer. He so wanted you to come to his home during the summer, but it just didn't work out.
How we doing everybody? Not good, I know, it's been hard, a hard few years, a hard few days, a hard few hours, but life as we know it is hard. Geez life is sometimes too damn hard, but not with grandpa, not in my eyes, not in my memory, my goodness everything seemed so easy with him. This man in my eyes created a paradise, everywhere he went, from the mountains of the Adirondacks to the sands of treasure island every memory and I share a lot of these memories with all of you, were the greatest in my life, driving the streets of green point Brooklyn picking up cans for deposit money to buy a toy, or steering a big white caddy in the streets of Florida getting some all you can eat pizza somewhere(man this man really had me pegged), to swimming and digging up clams in his backyard to fish with and then using those fish to catch more fish, (we had some fat birds around in those days),
to say the least grandpa was a great role model, all these adventures i had with him were lessons, lessons without saying a word, a few years ago i would look at Some of the bars he set in life and I thought they were unattainable but lately, but especially now I start looking back or forward and realizing that they are, like a good dividend these things take time to build and maybe a little bit of confidence(anything you can do i can do better, i can do better anything then you), a little frugality or maybe a lot (use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without) and every once in a while a lot of luck.
Boy oh boy did this man have luck, not only the luck at the casino or getting two deer in one year, but luck with having a long healthy life with a beautiful wife, two amazing daughters, five grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, an amazing family, and great neighbors, but the part of life I realize grandpa was most luckiest at was love, this trip I witnessed just how deep love can be, seeing how close two people can be, so even in his passing he left me a lesson, a lesson to be cherished, a lesson that nobody can explain to you in words, as I move on I'll keep looking for grandpa, I'll keep looking for his lessons and keep trying to emulate this great man in my own life, and realize how lucky I am to have had grandpa in my life.
Grandpa, you will be missed, you will be loved, and I will try to carry on where you left off, farewell my friend, I truly thank you!

Dear Dad
Being your daughter these last 70 years has been an honor. It is with great pride that we call you our Dad, Grandpa and GG Pop.
Phil and I will miss you forever. You have been a wonderful father figure to both of us but moreover a great friend.
Mom, you, Phil and I have traveled to many places together and always had a wonderful time. You always had such good stories to tell. Those memories will fill our hearts forever.
Life as we know it will never be the same because your not in it but our hearts are full because you were.
Thanks for being our Dad.
