James (Jim) Oliver Bennett passed in peace on October 26, 2021 at the age of 79. He was born on May 13, 1942 in Danbury, Connecticut to Dorothy and Oliver Bennett and preceded in death by his wife, Penny. Jim is survived by his wife Penny, his children Wendy, Dawn, Jimmy, Heather, and Whitney, and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim was a loving husband and father and a kind friend to many. He was a gentle giant – strong on the outside, but so gentle on the inside. He loved to tease, laugh, and make jokes. He was an excellent painter and he loved to bowl and go to see the dogs run at the track on Saturdays. Most of all, he loved his family and friends. He was an incredible man and will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Family and friends are invited to attend a gathering on Wednesday November 3rd from 2 - 3 pm with Memorial Service at 3pm, all at David C. Gross Funeral Home, 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg.. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity.
