All we did was live in Paris
A boy and a girl playing house
All we did - - and now she's dead
Head over heels dead
So many years ago we were so alive
Death never entered the equation
No thought of death, no no thought
And yet years later she dies
That girl in Paris
Whom for a moment in time I loved

Aunt Muche was married to my Mom's brother, Edgar Stephens. No one in my family was aware of her passing until we Googled her name after she did not respond to emails or phone calls. We all loved her very much and are broken hearted over her passing. She was one of the finest, classiest, kindest, wittiest people I have ever met. My deepest condolences to her sister and brother and their families. I have emailed the funeral home and would love to connect but have no contact info. Love, Joanne

My dear Muriel, I was delighted to lately renew our acquaintance and am now sickened by this news. Our scheduled luncheon to chat of your recent Chicago trip; the dinosaurs at the Field Museum, the Opening at the Lyric Opera, your walkabout at the Art Institute has not been missed but only rescheduled, as in faith I believe it shall be. Until then, may the halls you roam resound with Heaven's beautiful symphonies, may the stacks you browse abound with the world's greatest literature, and may the angels surround you and grant you peace everlasting.

On behalf the St Petersburg Opera Company’s Board of Directors I would like to express the sorrow and sadness that the passing of Muriel Desloovere has caused.
Muriel was a beloved member of our Board. She was always prompt to help and support the cause of the St Petersburg Opera Company. Her knowledge in the many fields of the art was extraordinary, highly appreciated and very helpful. We are going to miss her joyful presence, her comments, and subtle sense of humor. She was a great supporter of the arts in general and of the St Petersburg Opera Company.
She should have been with us ,this past Wednesday, for the Quarterly Donor event. Maestro Mark Sforzini dedicated the entire event to her and asked all present to observe a moment of silence dedicating our thoughts to her. In spirit, she was indeed with us. We pray for her to be in peace.
Mirella Cimato Smith, President of the Board of Directors of the St. Petersburg Opera Company.

Muriel was a bright light in this world. Her passion and compassion will be felt for many years to come, as well as her impact on the arts community of St Petersburg. While she never wanted the spotlight on HER, she would always do everything she could to help. Her kindness, generosity, and humble nature were a rarity. While we mourn this wonderful human being now, the mere mention of her name has always brought a smile to my face. The world needs more Muriels.
