Obituary of Sandra Lynn Geller

Sandra (Sandi) Lynn Geller, 55, wife, mother, daughter and friend to all, entered into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 2, 2021, after courageously fighting a 12-year battle with a rare cancer. 

Sandi was born in Greensboro, NC on September 28, 1965, to Penny and Richard Smith. Later moving to Tampa, Florida with her family, Sandi graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Special Education.  Before starting a family with Tommy, Sandi worked as a Special Ed teacher.  Later, Sandi’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to launch her own school lunch program and then opened her own seafood restaurant.  Eventually, Sandi’s passion for children and education brought her to LiFT, a not-for-profit school for students with autism and other neurodiversities, where she worked as a Development Specialist.

Sandi’s greatest and proudest treasures were her 30+ year marriage to the love of her life, Tommy Geller, and their three amazing and beautiful children, Chelsea Lynn, Morgan Elizabeth and Max Norman.  Whether it was traveling the world together, boating, sunbathing or Bern’s dinners, Sandi’s heart was full when she was with her family and grandpups.

Sandi made this world a brighter and better place and will be remembered for so many things.  She loved the Lord, always had a smile on her face, had a zest for life like no other and a servant’s heart. She was a fabulous cook, obsessed with designer sunglasses and purses, incredibly smart, loved deeply and impacted all of her family and wide circle of friends.

Her favorite bible verses were Ephesians 3:16-18, “I pray that out of his glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit and inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.  And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power together with all the Saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.”  She inspired others by the way she lived her life, always a true testament of her mantra TRUST BELIEVE PRAY.

Sandi is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Norman Geller, and survived by her loving family, Tommy, Chelsea, Morgan, and Max; her parents, Penny and Richard Smith; parents-in-law, Marilyn Geller and Walter Gehring; brother Kevin Smith; in laws, Larry (Lori) Geller, Roger Geller and nieces and nephews and many many friends who loved her dearly.

A church service will be held at Bridgepoint Church, 6690 Crosswinds Drive N., St. Petersburg, FL 33710 on Friday, May 7 at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to LiFT Academy  www.liftfl.org

The care of Mrs. Geller and her family is entrusted to David C. Gross Funeral Home in St. Petersburg.
