Dear Rochelle,
I don't know what possessed me to look up Dr. Seitzman's name on Google today, but, needless to say, I was saddened to see the obituary of his death over two years ago. I am sorry for your loss - he was larger than life and well-respected by many. He and Dr. Shuman gave me a job in their office at 916 19th St. NW when I was a recently separated woman whose husband was living in Morocco, and I arrived in DC, in need of a way to support myself when I came to work with Beverly and Louise..
I am sure that over the years, I must have made numerous mistakes but I lasted with them for nearly 15 years.
My dear Ted died in October 2015 at age 90, after a hard time living with the effects of Parkinson's Disease for several years - such a tough thing for him to deal with after being so active and fit until well into his 80's. We had a good life together.
I have lived at a retirement community, Goodwin House Bailey's Crossroads, in Falls Church since Ted and I moved here in 2010. I have a spectacular view from the 15th floor of NW DC and the Washington Monument, lots of friends, family nearby and a recent new romantic interest in my life - started when i was 85!
I have traveled extensively since Ted died, just as he and I did before his illness, including a four-month around the world cruise in 2019, before the start of Covid.
I hope you are well and enjoying your family. Congratulations on your grand-and-great grandchildren. My granddaughter made me a great grandmother in June, but I have not yet met my great granddaughter as they live in Kenya. Perhaps if they come home on leave this fall. I have three grandsons, as well, and my daughter and son have both retired.
My very belated sympathies to you and your family.
With warm regards,
Barb Jonas (secretary/receptionist for Seitzman and Shuman 1973-1986)

It is with a heavy heart that I write this memory of David. David was my mentor, my confidante, my calm, my dearest friend. He was always so helpful to me especially when I was going through the issues with my husband. David was always a phone call away for me! I will truly miss him and promise to be there for Rochelle whenever she needs me.
