Obituary of Frederick A. Silverman

Silverman, Frederick A., 70, St. Petersburg passed peacefully on January 19th, 2021.

The son of Julius and Rebecca, Fred was born in Tampa and grew up in St Petersburg where he was a lifelong member of Congregation B’nai Israel. After graduating Boca Ciega HS he went on to earn a B.S. in Advertising from UF where he was an active member of Tau Epsilon Phi later earning an M.B.A. in finance and economics from University of Miami. Fred traveled the world while enjoying a career in advertising. Later, Fred shifted his professional focus to the business of Health Care. He returned to St Petersburg to care for his mom and never left, cultivating a wide group of loving friends who are deeply saddened by his passing. Fred was truly a giving man, devoting countless volunteer hours to Menorah Manor, CBI, and American Stage among others. When not volunteering, he could be found playing bridge or cribbage or going to the theater, museum, or movies. He loved his annual treks to NY for a week of Broadway shows. Fred will be missed by all who knew him and were cheered by the ever present smile on his face regardless of how he was feeling. Fred was, above all else, a “mensch” and he is now at peace.

Graveside service will take place Sunday, January 24 at 10am at Chapel Hill Cemetery with Rabbi Phillip Weintraub presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred’s memory are encouraged to Congregation B’nai Israel –St Petersburg or the Ryan White Foundation.

The care of Mr. Silverman has been entrusted to David C. Gross Funeral Home in St. Petersburg.
