Austin was a next door neighbor in Ortega. Always remembered him as easy going great guy. Prayers and thoughts go out to his precious daughter. She was just a baby when they moved away to Tampa? area. Maybe saw him once or twice after that but he left a lasting mark. Heart felt condolences to his family and friends.

I will never forget you, I will forever miss your beautiful smile, spirt and soul forever. when I saw you, my heat was broken, the perfect smile was no more, the dimples were gone, I could not see your pretty teeth, the light that lit up your pretty blue eyes was no more, and your unmistakable pretty crows feet that compiled your perfect hypnotic smile were gone. There is a mess of Broken hearts you left behind. I am trying to make sense of all this. Everything is so complicated, I just can’t believe you are really gone. Mine, Gracie, Liz, Mom, Lexi and Eric hearts are broken , we all miss you so much, there just are no words. I love this photo so much, it truly captures who you are and the beautiful smile I Love and miss so much.

I am so sorry for the loss of Austin. Who is going to slice the turkey and ham at our family holiday dinners? (that was Austin's job). Austin was a part of our family and we all loved him and will miss him dearly. Austin was very devoted to Graysen and loved her so much. One day Tutu asked him what he was going to do when Graysen moved away to college.. he said "I am going with her". His passing has left an emptiness in our family. GOD Speed Austin.
Much Love Eeka

Oh Austin,
You earned your Angel wings, Gracie has her very own Angel in Heaven watching over her.
If only I had one last time, to pick up the phone and call you, see you, give you that one last hug. I wanted to reach out to you in the beginning of April but messaged you instead, you seemed busy so I put the call off till later but later never happened. There are so many things I want to tell you and talk about with you. They say God does not make mistakes, I ask myself why did God need you? I'm having a hard time warping my head around the fact you had to go, I question my faith at this moment in time,I have so many feeling right now, I am so mad, hurt, upset.I wonder if I would have been there ,could things have had a different outcome? I have so many wonderful memories of you, You were always Mom's and Dad's "favorite child" and I was ok with it because you were my favorite too.I remember the day you were born 3/26/1977 I had to go to school but was so excited to come home and meet you, I ran all the way home. You melted my heart from that day forward.
Austin loved to play outside, sports, However when he was young my mom had a hard time keeping him inside, he wanted to be outdoors and run free.If I ever found out, it was leverage I would use against him.I would not tell if he played hours of barbies and paper dolls with me. He had hours and hours of playing barbies It was so great.
Austin and I had many talks about parenting and our childhood and the way we wanted to raise our kids. He was an outstanding Dad to Gracie and I am very proud of my brother for so many things. Being a proud dedicated Marine to serve our Country,He was so proud to be the Grandson of A Florida State Senator, He was stationed in Japan and enjoyed his time there. His first job out of the Marines was Florida Rock and then Provest. He always worked hard to provide a great life for Gracie.
Austin had so many friend, everyone loved to be around him. He was cultured and had a sophisticated style an about him, He was caring and compassionate and treated everyone with respect.
Austin excelled at everything he did, everything he touched turned to gold. Austin had a" hypnotic "thing" he did
If you were angry with him and he could make you so mad, you would have the whole conversation planned out in your head what your were going to say to him and as soon as he walked in the room and you saw his beautiful smile, perfect teeth and gorgeous dimples and those mesmerizing eyes it was over. He did it to my entire family every time. We have so many great stories and memories with you. I'm thankful that you were able to spend a lot of time with us in the past. I regret no seeing you more recently. I Love you forever and you will be in my heart always. I will help look after Gracie.
Fly high Angel I know you are watching over Gracie. XOXO

As your mom, i'm still in shock. This is just not the natural order of things. A parent should never have to bury their child.I read a poem that has given me comfort at this time titled "What is dying?". He wrote: "I am standing on the seashore. A ship sails in the morning breeze and starts for the ocean . She is an object and I stand watching her until she fades from the horizon and someone at my side says 'She's gone!' Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. Her diminished size size and loss of sighting is in me, not in her. And just at that moment, there are others who are watching her coming, gladly shouting 'Here she comes!' And that is dying."
Austin, you have left our sight but never our hearts and memories I know you have arrived in the safe arms of Jesus and your loved ones who have arrived before you in heaven.
I love you always, Momma

My Uncle Austin will be dearly missed he was not only a perfect role model and hero to Gracie but to me as well. I just remember all of the great times we had together he had a way about him of always bringing a smile to everybodys face. He was one of the few people that would always jokingly call me by my childhood nickname Noonie. He was also an excellent father Graysen was his world. I know he is now looking down upon us from heaven rest in peace Austin you are missed and loved.

My uncle Austin was a very kind and generous man, tough but kind-hearted. I can still hear him greeting me and my brother with the casual “hey Lexi Lou, hey Noonie.” With that giant smile plastered on his face and cracking jokes the entire time. My mother and him remind me a lot of me and my own brother. If you asked them a question about when they were young, one story flowed into the next, consistently ragging on each other while all of us have tears in our eyes from laughing so hard and pretty soon a whole afternoon had passed by. He was an amazing father to Graysen and would do absolutely anything for her, everyone has seen it first hand as she is everything to him. I feel very thankful and blessed to have have him in my life even if it wasn’t for the amount of time we all had wished for. Some family members have arrived early, and they’re waiting for the rest of us, but there’s no need to rush—we’ve got all of eternity. I love you Uncle Austin

The Saville family was Austin’s Rome Family while he was at Darlington. He was another son to me and I treated Him as such. Our rule for dinner was to have a taste of everything. Austin hated it when we had birthday dinners because the kids loved to pick out things they knew Austin hated!! He joined in and had his taste while staring at me the whole time..... but the dimpled smile appeared after the swallow!!
The picture of Austin in a tux was from his Prom. He didn’t want to go but I told him it was part of his social education....he had to get a date or I would “take” him!! He went, even danced(!) and had a good time, and talked about it all the next day cutting up with my boys.
To say the very least we LOVED Austin! After graduation he came “home” or called frequently just to talk.
By far his proudest visit was when he brought Graysen to see where he went to school, Graysen was the love of his life!! The Saville home is open to her anytime and open arms and lots of love will be waiting! Austin WAS part of our family. We are devastated he’s gone but he will forever be in our hearts!

Where do I even try to start to write something I’ve never had to do for anyone in my entire life and can’t believe that it’s for Austin Stockton.
Austin was one of my first friends when I went to St. Mark’s and was so welcoming and kind. It’s not easy transferring from a public elementary school (Ortega Elementary) to a private elementary school in 6th grade when you’re a total tomboy in the midst of puberty.
From the first time we met, Austin was nothing but love and so warm and friendly. He’s a great example of someone whose first impression left a lasting impression on me and I knew back then that I had found a friend for life.
The best way I can describe Austin in a nutshell is he was the human version of a Golden / Labrador Retriever! He was someone that any interaction I had with him left me feeling better.
Austin always had a smile on his face, he was always up for a fun adventure, he was always happy, and he cheered everyone up in his presence. I seriously have never had a bad or boring time hanging out with Austin in 32 years!
I’ve had some of the best times and most fun memories in my entire life with him! For example, weddings will never be the same without Hanz and Franz there together aka Austin and Max at James McCormick’s wedding! They were a dynamic duo, kindred spirits, and two of the best and coolest friends I’ve ever met!
I really want Austin’s legacy to live on and I know he’d want all of us to keep on living life to the fullest life he did!
My only regret, is that I didn’t tell Austin what an amazing friend he was and the best girl dad I’ve ever known!
I’lll miss you more than you will ever know, Austin and I’ll forever be grateful for our friendship!

Austin my very dear sweet Friend who absolutely Loved and Lived Life to the Fullest. He was the most Selfless person I have ever met in my entire life and he had a huge impact on my Life. One like no one ever has before. And his sweet Little Graysen was his entire world, the light of his Life and as he once told me the Love of his Life . An Amazing Father and a wonderful True Friend who will be missed so dearly.

Austin left his imprint on all the Gatling family’s hearts . His friendly manner ,beautiful smile and kind heart will always be the way we remember him . Knowing Austin since age 12 we witnessed his development through the teenage years and eventually maturing and devoting his service to the Marines serving his country so unselfishly . The high point of Austin’s life was being a Dad to his daughter Graysen. The life he gave her fulll of Love , laughter , friends , adventure , dogs , , the beach , boating , special father daughter dances , memorable birthday celebrations and so it goes on and on . He was the Best Dad a child could hope for . She is the beautiful person she is today because of Austin’s imprint and that will remain for life , her gift from him. We are sad but feel God blessed us by knowing Austin . Never to be forgotten and Loved always .
