Obituary of Eleanor Shirley Sneden

 

90, of St. Petersburg, died November 28, 2019 in her home.  She was born Eleanor Shirley Fradet but was known as “Pudge” to her friends.  Born on March 23, 1929, she was one of 10 children born to John and Wilhelmina Fradet in Monango, North Dakota.   

On March 31, 1951 she married William L. J. Sneden the love of her life, with whom she shared 56 years. During the 1950s and 1960s, she was a hairdresser in Jackson, Michigan. From 1965 to 1984 she was the office manager for the Pine Shops in Big Rapids, Michigan. From 1984 to 1991 she was office and accounting manager for two other Michigan companies. After a two-year retirement, she enjoyed serving as the office secretary and bookkeeper for Elks Lodge #1224 in St. Petersburg, Florida.  From 2003 to 2007 she was employed during the tax season by the Seminole Office of H&R Block. She was very involved in a community theater group called “The Clark Lake Players” near Jackson, Michigan and in recent years, she enjoyed volunteer work at the Seminole Public Library. An avid reader, she was passionate about crossword puzzles, completing one the morning she passed away.

Survivors include her daughter, Debora Novak (Paul), St. Petersburg, FL; her son Marc Sneden (Kimberly), Battle Creek, MI; grandchildren: Stefan Sneden (Laura); Marcus Sneden (Holly); Carlo Tuzzolino (Angela); William Tuzzolino; Mallory (Breton); and eight great-grandchildren.  For the last 10 years she was the matriarch of the family and the beloved “Aunt Pudge” to her numerous nephews and nieces. Her husband, William Sneden predeceased her as did all of her nine brothers and sisters.

A memorial service for friends and family was held in St. Petersburg, Florida on December 8. A memorial service for Michigan friends and family will be held in the Summer of 2020.  She was loved by many and is now greatly missed by all who knew her.
