Obituary of Magnolia Faith Markle

Miss Magnolia Faith Markle, infant daughter of Christian Wesley Markle and Alexandra Renée Dugas Markle , died Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL, where she was born June 26, 2019 with congenital diaphragmatic hernia, omphalocele, and kyphoscoliosis. For the 74 days that she graced this earth, Magnolia was treated with the highest level of medical care by the most experienced staff in the world for her conditions. She touched all those who knew her personally and prayed for her around the globe. Magnolia’s life pushed her community to a deeper reliance on the Lord Jesus Christ. Her example reminds us all that life is precious and valuable, no matter how short.

In addition to her parents, Magnolia is survived by her brother, Simon Markle, all of Columbia; grandparents, Grady and Patricia Emfinger of Savannah; and Faith Markle of Hartsville. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, David Raymond Markle.

The funeral service for Magnolia will be held 11 o’clock, Thursday, September 12th, at Riverside Community Church, 2925 Devine St., Columbia, SC with Pastor James Walden officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 10:15 o’clock. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Magnolia Faith Markle Fund, 121 Summerlea Drive, Columbia, SC 29203.
