Obituary of Ruth April

Ruth April passed away Friday, August 10, 2018, at the age of ninety-five, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Wife of the late Allan April. Mother and mother-in-law of Susan April and Mitchell Zusman, Lynn April and the late Joe Shmuely. Grandmother of Arinn and Andrew. Daughter of the late Gertie and the late Al Shevell. Sister and sister-in-law of the late Nona Lehrer, Mel and Lottie Shevell, Michael and Annette Shevell, Larry and Paula Shevell. The family would like to thank Avril Trotman, whose years of care, love and dedication made Ruthie’s life so much more tolerable. Sincere gratitude to Yan Zhao, Ariana Leitman, Susan Cliff and the wonderful staff of 3 South at Maimonides Geriatric Centre for their loving care, concern and compassion. Ruth will be laid to rest 10:30 am Wednesday at Palms-Robarts Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave., Sarasota, Florida, 34232, alongside her late husband, Allan.
